Embark on an unforgettable quad excursion between Etna and the Alcantara Gorges and experience an exhilarating half-day adventure that will take you from the heart of the valley to the majestic lunar landscapes of Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe.
This tour, lasting approximately 4 to 5 hours, is ideal for those who want to explore Sicily's wild nature off-road, riding through forests, dirt paths, and ancient lava flows.
Along the way, you’ll also visit one of Italy’s most charming villages, Castiglione di Sicilia, and explore fascinating volcanic caves.
Excursion Route
The tour starts near the Alcantara Gorges, one of Sicily's most spectacular natural wonders, featuring lava canyons carved by the Alcantara River. The route winds through breathtaking landscapes, dirt roads, and pristine Mediterranean scrub forests. After crossing the valley, you will reach the picturesque medieval village of Castiglione di Sicilia, known for its Norman Castle and panoramic views over the Alcantara Valley.
From there, the adventure continues to the slopes of Mount Etna, climbing up to an altitude of 1,800 meters. Along the way, we’ll explore ancient pine forests, lava flows, and volcanic caves formed during past eruptions. This unique experience lets you immerse yourself in the Etnean landscape, surrounded by unspoiled nature and extraordinary views.

Is a driver's license required?
Yes, to drive the quad, a category B driver’s license is required.
Are other routes available?
Of course! We offer options lasting 1 hour, 2 hours and 30 minutes, or half a day with an excursion on Mount Etna. Check out the page with all our activities.
What should I wear?
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Helmets and any necessary safety equipment will be provided by the staff.
Can I participate as a passenger only?
Yes, you can join the excursion as a passenger without a driver’s license.
Where is the meeting point?
The meeting point is located near the Alcantara Gorges, at a farmhouse. You will receive a Google Maps link with the exact location upon booking confirmation.

Fantastic tour!!! Squad, 5 hours through wineyards, small villages in the mountain up to Etna. On our day back we drove in a river.Beatyful and fun! Antonio, our guide and the other guys were so friendly and made us an unforgetteble day.

Magnificent experience. A big thank you to Santo and Anissa who were top notch, very professional and caring. The 2.5 hour walk was truly incredible. Superb scenery! Passing through the Alcantara Valley then heading towards the caves seen from above with a breathtaking waterfall (swimming in very cool fresh water). Then a walk, at the end to return, in a really great all-terrain vehicle. An unforgettable excursion! Thanks again to Santo and Anissa!

Unforgettable quad experience!
We had a truly spectacular quad trip! The route was well organized, with breathtaking landscapes including dirt roads, hills and more technical sections that made the experience fun and adrenaline-filled. The guides were super professional and friendly, always attentive to safety and available to answer any questions.
The quads were in excellent condition, easy to drive even for those, like some of us, who were new to the experience. During the trip we stopped at panoramic points perfect for taking photos and enjoying nature.
A highly recommended activity for those looking for a mix of adventure, nature and fun. We will definitely be back

Non ci sono abbastanza parole per descrivere quanto sia stato incredibile il giro sui quad! Fin dal primo istante, con il rombo dei motori e la polvere che si alzava sotto le ruote, ho capito che mi aspettava qualcosa di fuori dall’ordinario. Il percorso era perfettamente organizzato: sterrati, salite ripide, discese mozzafiato e tratti nel fango che sembravano usciti da un film d’azione

A great adventure, a professional team with almost new quads. We walked through the forests, crossed the rivers to get to the closest place to Etna. Poses in very nice places (lava flow of 2002, seen in fantastic Sicilian villages) in complete safety. Very professional guides who speak French and English well. To do absolutely.
